Biomass is a leading renewable energy source. Germany alone had around 9,200 biogas plants generating approx. 4,200 MW of electricity at the end of 2016. German manufacturers – like SCHNELL Motoren GmbH with over 4,100 biogas CHP units installed worldwide – dominate the development and distribution of biogas technology around the globe. To this day, the German biogas industry remains the global market leader.*
Storage is a huge challenge with wind or solar energy. Not so with biogas. Once generated in the digester, biogas can be stored and converted to heat and power as needed. That makes biogas an ideal choice for both baseload and peak generation. CHP units that convert biogas into energy therefore occupy a special place in the push to meet all our energy needs from renewable sources.
SCHNELL Motoren GmbH's effective, user-friendly CHP technology plays a critical role in supplying energy from biomass. Our mission is to sustainably improve energy efficiency in order to conserve feedstocks and boost energy yields. To reach this goal, we invest heavily in research and development and work closely with customers and partners.
